Buying Microsoft Looks Like A Smart Deal

One reason why Microsoft is being touted as a stock with possible impressive investor returns is that Microsoft has been working and trying to get its software systems into a new venture. The company known for simplifying the personal computer and making its software easily accessible to computer systems globally, Microsoft, has been bidding to get its windows operating system installed into a phone.

News on February 13, 2011, from Barcelona was that Microsoft had won for Nokia’s business against Google. Microsoft, according to Stephen Elop, a Nokia executive, will supply Nokia with windows software for a phone that Nokia plans to make and distribute in 2011 with windows technology installed.

The news was enhanced by the additional insight provided by another Nokia executive, Jo Harlow, who had actual photographs of the proposed Nokia phone with Microsoft windows software installed. Jo Harlow also said that Nokia has plans to produce and to market the new phone with Microsoft windows installed this year. Nokia’s stock fell on the news, because investors were unhappy with Nokia’s choice of allegiance versus going with Google’s Andriod operating system.

Seems that Nokia wants to get its share of the billions in new phones being manufactured with computer systems installed. More information is being given by Stephen Elop, himself, who claims that his previous relationship working for Microsoft had nothing to do with Nokia, his current employers, getting the contract against Google who had planned to give Nokia its Android technology.

The news is interesting in that their seems to be some speculation about Stephen Elop and his connection with both Microsoft and Nokia since he worked for Microsoft before going to Nokia and seemingly engineering the deal for Microsoft to get Nokia’s business which is said to be in the billions. However, Stephen Elop has denied that he had any undue influence in Nokia’s choosing Microsoft over Google.
